The catamaran leaves from Los Sueños marina in Herradura, ten minutes north of Jacó, and crosses the Gulf of Nicoya to Tortuga Island — turtle island.
It is a full day and the food is part of it: a light breakfast on the way out, drinks aboard, a cooked lunch on the island, rum punch and margaritas after. On the island there is snorkelling, a banana boat and a nature hike, or the beach if none of that appeals. Pickup from Playa Hermosa is $10 per person, added at booking.
