When is the best time to visit Jacó?

It depends on what you want. The dry season runs December to March, with April a transition month, for the most reliable sun; the green season, May to October, is wetter but has a drier spell in July and August — the veranillo, or 'little summer' — and November transitions back toward dry.

It depends on the trip. Central Jacó is the liveliest, most developed town, with an expansive beach. Playa Hermosa, just south, is a serious surf beach with strong, continuous waves. Playa Herradura, about six kilometers away, is better for swimming and is home to the Los Sueños Marina. Punta Leona has two beaches separated by a point, and Esterillos, further south, is a long, quieter beach named for its little estuaries.

What is there to do in Jacó besides surf?
